WHAT WE BELIEVE

Immanuel Lutheran Church joyfully confesses the historic Christian faith as it is taught in the Holy Scriptures and faithfully summarized in the Lutheran Confessions. We believe that we are saved by God's grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Jesus Christ -- true God and true man -- is the center of our life together, the One who died for our sins and rose again for our justification.

We believe that God delivers His gifts through the Means of Grace: the preached Word, Holy Baptism, and the Lord's Supper. In these Sacraments, Christ Himself is present, forgiving sins, creating faith, and sustaining His people. We hold that the Scriptures are the inspired and authoritative Word of God, the final rule and guide for faith and life.

We believe that the Church is the community gathered by the Holy Spirit around these gifts, called to proclaim Christ to the world and to love our neighbors with the mercy we ourselves have received. In all things, we trust that God is at work -- creating, redeeming, and renewing His people for the life of the world.
